WEA On line
The new issue of WE 2.0 has just been posted on the Web site!
Members should have found it in their mail boxes last week!
The current issue of WE 2.0, highlighting the often quiet but caring work of educators, can be found at:www.washingtonea.org (right hand side navigation bar, immediately under Resources) or through this direct link: http://www.washingtonea.org/
Either way, we encourage, urge, strongly suggest, beg, plead, and arm twist you and your members to take a few moments to read about some of the great work educators around the state are doing for our students.
Look at this issue you will find a surprise - one of our own local members is featured.
Enjoy this publication!
SEA SUMMER INTO FALL
This summer SEA worked hard advocating on behalf of our members. We have met with the Superintendent about staffing issues, recalling members, legislative matters and their impact on SVSD, and the coming SVSD local levy elections. We have attended SVSD School Board meetings. We have interviewed School Board candidates running for the Primary Election. We have prepared a process to inform and activate members throughout the election cycle.
Good News
Most of the members that received a Reduction – In - Force (RIF) Letter have
been notified that they are to return to work.
All of the candidates running for the District One School Board vacancy were
interviewed and the SEA Interview Team made a recommendation for
the Primary Election August 18. All SEA members received a home email
about the recommendations. All WEA members living in the district
received a postcard listing the SEA recommendations.
Bad News
The secondary librarians staffing matter has not been resolved.
WEA’s
to attend. We will be looking at additional training opportunities for members to
participate in throughout the coming school year.
Coming Events
SEA officers and leadership will be preparing activities and programs for the
coming year.
SEA Summer Communications – SEA has sent emails to all SEA members
recently (7-29-09). If you have not received an email from SEA please

WELCOME - NEW SEA WEBSITE
Greetings and Welcome to the new Snoqualmie Edcuation Association Website.
This new SEA Website was created late July 2009. The goal of the new website is to provide SEA members with information about SEA programs and activities, as well as other resources and information to suport and assist them. It is our hope to keep it up to date and to provide the information members will find timely and useful.
Ann Heideman, Mt Si HS, is the Web Coordinator. She would love any ideas or suggestions you may have for topics or resources that should be placed on the website. We may not be able to do everything suggested but look forward to SEA members actively reviewing the website and offering suggestions. Ann Heideman can be contacted at
